The Early Iterations of EverDriven VIP for School Staff
In my second week on the job, I joined a field research trip to California — observing over 100 pickup and dropoff interactions across 14 schools to validate a market opportunity nobody had formally tested.
The assumption was that teachers needed better tracking tools. The reality was bigger: it wasn’t just teachers, it was every school staff member managing student pickup, and the problem wasn’t complexity — it was access. A projected $4.2M in lost productivity from a broken communication chain that took 15 minutes and 6 people to answer one question.
The product shipped two years later under a different team and a different technical approach.
